Reusable Grocery Tote
We don't mean to be annoying about it - (yes, we do) - but knowledge is power and we're all about empowerment here at The Balanced Bae. Did you know that today, there are 5.25 trillion macro and micro pieces of plastic in our ocean, and 46,000 pieces in every square mile of ocean, weighing up to 269,000 tonnes. You might say, "Well, I recycle!" And we would say, "That's great, but did you know that only 5% of all materials which people recycle actually gets recycled?" Gross.
What the actual truck. The Earth is our mother, not a dump! Every time you grocery shop or stop by the drug store, you take home a couple, to several plastic bags. If you're mindful, they might end up in the recycle bin, or they get tossed in with the rest of your trash. Instead, we encourage you to buy a few of these reusable grocery totes to haul your precious cargo. Curbing our plastic use isn't hard, it's just that most of the time, we don't know there are better solutions. An investment now could mean significant changes and wins for our oceans, and ultimately, us. Personally, I don't want to worry about the micro-plastic content of every fish I eat.
Remember, we vote first and foremost with our dollars. Every dollar we spend, every choice we make is weaving the tapestry of our karma, and affects everything.
